“Dreams,” by Langston Hughes

“Dreams,” by Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

  1. One of my favorite poets. I have a recording he did (Weary Blues) with a good jazz background. You can see the bare lightbulb in the ceiling and the peeling wallpaper.
