I hope you will join me in congratulating Mark Woodward for winning the Spillwords Press September 2025 Publication of the Month Award.  Mr. Woodward won for his poem, “Crossed Wires.”

(And for those of you who voted for the short story of mine that was nominated, I do thank you.)  🙂

I hope you will join me in congratulating SmithaV for being awarded Spillwords Press Publication of the Month for August 2024.  You can find her wonderful poem “Empty Lines” right here.

(Thanks also to those of you who voted for me in the contest.  I certainly appreciate it.)

Just a quick reminder to vote for Publication of the Month over at Spillwords Press.

(And I have an ulterior motive for the reminder because my poem “Smiling Among Inert Shipwrecks” was nominated.)  😉

You can register to vote at Spillwords Press right here, and then cast your vote right here in the contest.

Have fun, and thank you in advance if you happen to vote for me!  🙂

“Smiling Among Inert Shipwrecks” nominated for Publication of the Month at Spillwords Press.

I received a nice early birthday present today — my poem “Smiling Among Inert Shipwrecks” was nominated for August 2024 Publication of the Month over at Spillwords Press.   (And I am touched that readers responded so favorably to this piece in particular, because I wrote it to honor my late parents.)

As I’ve explained here before, you have to register with Spillwords Press in order to vote.  You then have until August 29th to cast your vote here.

If you happen to vote for me, then thank you for your support!

My poem “Where Would We Go?” was nominated for a Spillwords Press Award.

I was notified last night that my poem “Where Would We Go?” was nominated for a Spillwords Press Publication of the Month Award for June.  I am just thrilled with the distinction; thanks so much to those of you who’ve supported this piece already.

“Where Would We Go?” was published for the first time at Spillwords Press on June 13  — you can find it right here.   I’d be flattered, of course, if you liked the poem enough to vote in its favor.  You’d need to register as a user first with the Spillwords Press website, but that’s quick and easy enough.  Here’s where to vote.

I hope you all had a great weekend!
