It’s a lazy poetry Saturday — I had a lot of fun attending the Peeking Cat Literary relaunch on Facebook this afternoon, and I am now enjoying my copy of The Fifth Di, Hiraeth Books’ outstanding magazine of science fiction, fantasy, and horror.
It’s truly fun stuff, and you can order your copy of the September Issue right here. And when you’ve got a copy, please check out my poem “Industrial Revolution” on page 42. 🙂 (Thanks again to Managing Editor Tyree Campbell for accepting my work for such a first-rate indie lit mag!)
Stay safe out there, friends.
Great news! The good folks over at Hiraeth Books will publish three of my poems in the coming months. “Not of Byzantium” and “All Our Faults Are Fallen Leaves” will appear in the Winter Issue of Illumen magazine, which will be released in January. “Industrial Revolution” will appear in the September Issue of The Fifth Di magazine.
If you follow this blog, then you know that Illumen is a favorite magazine of mine because of its excellent speculative poetry, but The Fifth Di is a magazine with which I’m not yet acquainted. It sounds like a terrific science fiction periodical, and I’ll be looking forward to reading my first copy when the September issue is published.
Thanks once again to Managing Editor Tyree Campbell for allowing me to share my voice with such outstanding indie lit publications!
I got some more great news today — Illumen magazine released its Spring 2020 issue, featuring my poem “Smiling Among Inert Shipwrecks.” This edition of the magazine boasts a cover by artist Sandy DeLuca, and names Francis W. Alexander as its Featured Poet. You can order a copy from Hiraeth Books right here.
Thanks again to Illumen Editor in Chief Tyree Campbell for accepting my poem for this outstanding quarterly digest of speculative poetry.
Hey, I got one really terrific early Christmas present — Illumen will publish a poem of mine, “Smiling Among Inert Shipwrecks,” in its Spring 2020 issue. This will be the second time that the print-only publication has featured my work — the first was when Illumen published my “Three Dreamers” set of poems back in 2013.
Illumen is a speculative poetry journal that is released quarterly by Alban Lake Publishing. Its editorial focus is to “describe other worlds in poetic prose, challenge heroes and villains with eloquent words, show the nightmare of real life in all its disgusting mud and muck.” It’s a wonderful place for a writer to see their creative work appear, and I’m grateful to Editor Tyree Campbell for allowing me to share my voice there.
