Reporters, please pose this question to Dan Patrick.

If Republicans like Dan Patrick truly want to sacrifice themselves to the Coronavirus for the country, then there’s a simple way for them to prove that. They can volunteer today to provide direct care at hospitals to people who are already sick and symptomatic. If martyrdom is what they really want, then they should forgo all protective equipment, saving it for the healthcare professionals — who will be working even harder to save lives, if social distancing isn’t in place.

What are Republicans waiting for?  I’m sure that the doctors could already use their help.

When the pandemic inevitably erupts further here, it will be even easier for them. They needn’t find a hospital. The dying will be easy to reach nearby.

Republicans, put your lung function where your mouth is.

A much needed thank you to service workers.

This is just a quick word of thanks to all of the people working in stores and supermarkets — the cashiers and service people, along with the warehousing and supply workers.  We know that your jobs can be difficult even on the average day!  (Hey, I worked retail for a long time.)

Now you are on the front lines as America faces a crisis that is barely comprehensible to a lot of us.  The dangers you may be facing are not lost on us.

Thank you.
