Spillwords Press publishes “Ode to a Would-Be Swimmin’ Skink”

Spillwords Press published another poem of mine today — this time it was my humorous nature poem, “Ode to a Would-Be Swimmin’ Skink.”  You can read it online right here.

Thanks yet again to Director of Development Dagmara K. and his colleagues at Spillwords Press!

“To Sherlock Holmes she is always *THE* woman.”

“To Sherlock Holmes she is always the woman. I have seldom heard him mention her under any other name. In his eyes she eclipses and predominates the whole of her sex.”

— from Arthur Conan Doyle’s “A Scandal in Bohemia” (1891)

The Hotel Roanoke.

Originally built in 1882.  I thought it would be fun to include a 1910 photo beneath the shot I took tonight.

The hotel is … owned and operated by Virginia Tech?  I did not know that.

Welp. It’s a good thing I’m a pluviophile.

(They’re gonna thank me one day for keeping detailed files on Pluto.)

Things will look up!  Maybe you’ll get a date with that Green M&M you’re so hot for.
