WHATABOUT WHATABOUT WHATABOUT WHATABOUT

“What about Hillary?”
“What about Obama?”
“What about Black Lives Matter” [et cetera, et alia]?

If these people and organizations are truly the nefarious bogeymen that you claim them to be, then why should they set the standards for your own behavior?

Okay … let me put it in simpler terms:

If Hillary does something wrong, it’s okay for your guy to do it? I thought you were AGAINST Hillary. Did I misunderstand you?

The Bristol Herald Courier prints my latest letter to the editor.

The Bristol Herald Courier today printed my latest letter to the editor — this one is about the F.B.I. executing a search warrant at Donald Trump’s Florida home.  You can find it right here:

“A Reality Check”

Thanks once again to Managing Editor Roger Watson for allowing me to share my thoughts through this outstanding regional newspaper for Southwest Virginia.

Throwback Thursday: Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy” (1975)

Believe it or not, I can remember Glen Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy” from its heyday — maybe not 1975, when it was released by Capitol Records, but definitely from the ensuing few years when it so often played on the radio.  (It got lots of airtime, as it was a hit with both mainstream and country audiences.)  This song will always remind me of my very early childhood.

It’s a catchy tune, really.  But it is a bit of an earworm.  Hum it at your won risk.

“I’d share a Vonnegut quote here this morning, but I don’t want to be too Kurt with you.”

Down in the Dirt magazine includes “The Rough, Violet Stone” in its newest anthology.

I got some nice news a little while ago — Down in the Dirt magazine has included my poem “The Rough, Violet Stone” in its newest anthology, entitled The Final Frontier.  (The poem previously appeared in the magazine’s August 2022 issue on the first of the month.)

You can buy a copy of the new book on Amazon at the link below:

The Final Frontier

Or, you can read the entire anthology online right here.

As always, I am grateful to Editor Janet Kuypers for selecting my work for both this outstanding magazine and its subsequent poetry collections.

It’s a Shakespun.

I keep wanting to refer to Donald Trump’s Florida home as “Mar-Iago.”

But I’m afraid that only theater nerds would get the joke.
