“Nothing,” by Eric Robert Nolan

Empty are her open palms. Oblivion
rises in her irises.
All her inaudible words
are whispers now in storms of empty space.
Her recollection
is a chaos of absences.

Even her hair is empty sky, black and shining both, unreachable beside me, the unattainable stars, cascading night.

Keeping up with the Nolans.

Hey, gang.  If you’re concerned for my sanity and want to monitor my mental health via the safety of your Internet connection, I’ve started a page here at the blog for poetry publications in 2023.

I hope that you are all having a happy Valentine’s Day!

Nope.

Somebody please tell me I did not graduate from college almost 30 years ago.

(Without any jokes about my diploma being fake because I can totally see that one coming.)

I just refuse to believe it.  That’s how it works, right?  Fake news?

As if my shameless self-promotion wasn’t enough …

… check out this hat I got for Christmas from a fellow Roanoker!!

Now no one can say they weren’t warned.

(It’s a dorkmanteau.)

I aspire to be a ne’erd-do-well.

That’s a ne’er-do-well who is also a nerd.

The Piker Press features my love poem “Where Would We Go?”

I am so honored today to see The Piker Press publish my love poem “Where Would We Go?”  You can find it right here.

Thanks, as always, to Managing Editor Sand Pilarski for allowing me to share my work via this wonderful online magazine!

“‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” by Clement Clarke Moore (read by Eric Robert Nolan)

(The actual title for the poem is “A Visit From St. Nicholas.”)

The Roanoke Times features my letter to the editor about rationalizing political violence.

I discovered this morning that The Roanoke Times published my latest letter to the editor; it appeared on November 21.  (This was my letter about drawing comparisons between the January 6th attack on the Capitol and protests by Black Lives Matter.)

You can find it right here.

Thanks, as always, to the editorial staff of The Roanoke Times for the opportunity to share my point of view with my neighbors.

I don’t see the ****ing tractors in these pictures!!!!

I SWEAR to you, I keep stumbling over these “I am not a robot” tests.

I know I’m not a replicant because I don’t have any superhuman powers. (I keep checking.)
