Eric Robert Nolan graduated from Mary Washington College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He spent several years a news reporter and editorial writer for the Culpeper Star Exponent in Culpeper, Virginia. His work has also appeared on the front pages of numerous newspapers in Virginia, including The Free Lance – Star and The Daily Progress. Eric entered the field of philanthropy in 1996, as a grant writer for nonprofit healthcare organizations. Eric’s poetry has been featured by Dead Beats Literary Blog, Dagda Publishing, The International War Veterans’ Poetry Archive, and elsewhere. His poetry will also be published by Illumen Magazine in its Spring 2014 issue.

It wouldn’t be heart to pull off.

I saw this sign on Luck Avenue.  If I leased a space from Poe & Cronk, I’d call them up, demand to speak directly to Poe, and complain about “THE BEATING OF THAT HIDEOUS HEART” under the floorboards.

I’d be joking, though.  (It would be just a Cronk call.)

Throwback Thursday: “Real Genius” (1985)

I remember seeing “Real Genius” in the theater in 1985.  Man, did I love it.

I don’t think anyone thinks of this movie when Val Kilmer’s name comes up — he’s more likely remembered as Jim Morrison, Batman or Doc Holiday.  But he was actually really funny here.  (And does anyone really want to remember him as Batman?)
